Volunteer webmaster: This person will be responsible for creating and uploading content to the agency website and monitoring all social marketing connections. This position could be filled by two individuals, one with non-profit marketing experience to develop content, and one with web (word press) experience to design pages and upload content. Volunteer(s) should be self starters with the ability to lead this project working closely with Cape Fear HealthNet staff.
Volunteer Coordinator of Donated Supplies: Volunteer needed to create, maintain, and distribute an inventory list so that partner agencies have up-to-date information for their patients. Volunteer should have knowledge of MS Excel or MS Access. Volunteer should also be a self-starter who can run this project with minimal supervision after intial orientation.
Child Advocacy and Parenting Place Exchange Club Center
Wednesday, February 15, 2012; Wednesday, May 2, 2012; Wednesday June 26, 2012: Volunteers needed to help coordinate celebrations every nine weeks for 25 school aged children. These celebrations honor the accomplishments by children enrolled in programming at Creekwood. They will recognize honor roll students and students with academic and behavioral improvement. Volunteers can not only help coordinate these celebrations, but also make certificates, solicit prize donations for the children, organize activity stations, seek donations for refreshments, etc.
Wednesday April 4, 2012: Volunteers needed to coordinate Easter Egg hunt and activities for participating Creekwood residents. Volunteers could coordinate the event, fill and hide easter eggs, organize and man activity stations, serve refreshments, and enjoy and fune egg hunt.
Ongoing beginning January 2012: Volunteer tutors needed to work with elementary and middle school aged children at the Creekwood Resource Center. Tutors are needed for reading and math and would work weekly with the same student or small froup of students at the resouce center. Materials, resources, and training to be provided by CAPP. Times and days may vary according to student/tutor needs.
All Ongoing Opportunities: - Lead activities for groups or individulas who are at Elderhaus during the day and early evenings. - Assist with serving the noon meal and morning and afternoon snacks - Ride with van driver to pick up and take home program participants
Ongoing Opportunity: Catholic Charities is seeking volunteers to translate various documents. Volunteers must be fluent in English and Spanish. Training is available for anyone that is interested.
March 2, 2012-March 4, 2012: Volunteers needed for Casablanca Gala 2012. Several positions available from event set-up and breakdown to day of support.
Dolphin After-School Enrichment Program (Pender County)
Ongoing Opportunity (during school year): Homework assistance needed after school on Monday-Thursday (1 hour per volunteer)
All Ongoing Opportunities: - Need volunteers for help prepare, serve, and clean-up after meals served in their soup kitchen. They serve 3 meals a day to Salvation Army shelter residents and one meal to the public every night. - Need volunteers to help with cleaning and sorting through donations at their family store.

Domestic Violence Shelter and Services
Ongoing but immediate needs:
- Pressure washing the exterior of administrative offices and outlying buildings
- Waxing and buffing hardwood floors for approx. 1,400 sq.ft. of floor space
- Paint 3 offices in administrative building
- General lawn maintenance
- Interior and exterior window washing
- Planting flowers and cleaning out current flower beds
- Painting of Agency's sign
- Installing AC/Heat vents (already have vents, just need installation)
- Replace floor and tub tiles at agency's shelter location
- Install sheetrock at agency's shelter location
Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center
Ongoing Opportunity: Patient Care volunteers to provide respite for caregivers and much-needed emotional support for patients and families. Volunteers act as an objective, caring friend to people in need.

Woodworker/Mentor: Volunteers to work in the wood shop/art room with our kids. Especially helpful if you have any woodworking or art skills. Volunteers should also enjoy working with teenagers, have an understanding of shop safety, and have an upbeat attitude.
